The State Minister for ICT and National Guidance has issued a warning to the youth in Uganda, cautioning them against engaging in divisive politics and sectarianism. Godfrey Kabbyanga Baluku urged the youth to avoid supporting opposition politics that rely on misinformation and lies, advising them instead to strategically position themselves.
During the 6th Graduation Ceremony of Metropolitan International University in Kisoro Municipality, Kabbyanga emphasized the importance of not being swayed by opposition politics. He stated, “Don’t waste time supporting the Opposition because the NRM Government is still here. I am not an MP, but because of strategic positioning, I am now a Minister.”
Kabbyanga, serving as the Guest of Honor at the ceremony where 1662 Graduands were awarded Diplomas, Degrees, and Masters, encouraged the graduates to utilize the skills acquired during their studies. He emphasized the significance of navigating challenges in the job market and advocated for embracing e-learning programs to further their education. Kabbyanga highlighted the importance of establishing networks and strategic positioning for future success, recognizing the evolving nature of the world.
He stated, “The world is evolving so fast; adaptability is key. Joining the evolving landscape is not just a choice but a necessity.” Kabbyanga reminded the graduates that the NRM stands as a beacon of progress and encouraged their support for government programs focused on socio-economic transformation.
Sarah Nyirabahitisi Mateke, the State Minister of Youth and Children Affairs, who also chairs the Board of Trustees of Metropolitan International University, advised the graduands to be innovative and embrace every job opportunity that comes their way.
