The disturbing trend of high-profile individuals being killed in Uganda through violent means, reminiscent of cases like AIGP Andrew Kaweesi and prosecutor Joan Kagezi, continues to be a cause for concern.
The annual crime report released by the police earlier this week revealed a grim statistic, with 300 people shot dead in Uganda last year alone. The motive behind such senseless acts of violence often remains unclear, leading to heightened efforts by law enforcement to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
In response to the recent shooting death of Daniel Bbosa, the head of Buganda Kingdom’s Ndiga clan, and businessman, the police have made significant progress. Deputy spokesperson Owoyesigyire reported, “Furthermore, we have recovered the firearm allegedly used in the murder incident, along with the motorcycle registration number UEX 754E, utilized by the assailants during the attack.” He emphasized that these findings would play a crucial role in the ongoing investigation, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding the crime.
