The National Resistance Movement (NRM), once hailed as a pillar of hope for Uganda, has devolved into an obscene mockery—a spineless puppet of Yoweri Museveni’s autocratic grip on power. What was initially intended to be a transformative force for Uganda’s recovery after years of turmoil has morphed into a ruthless, bloodthirsty machine dedicated solely to one man’s lust for domination. The NRM, now a shadow of its former self, stands as a monument to political prostitution, selling out every inch of its integrity to satisfy Museveni’s insatiable ego.
For over three decades, this tyrant has held Uganda in a vice-like chokehold, shamelessly using the NRM as his personal plaything to entrench his dictatorship. Under the flimsy guise of democracy, Museveni has turned the NRM into nothing more than a grotesque extension of his power, a beast that crushes any voice that dares to speak against him. Kira Municipality MP, Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda, has had enough and has not hesitated to call out this pathetic charade. His words resonate with millions of Ugandans who are sick to death of watching this power-hungry despot abuse the NRM, dragging Uganda deeper into the pit of dictatorship.
Let’s not sugarcoat it—the NRM is no longer a political party. It’s a criminal syndicate, a pack of political whores willing to do anything to keep Museveni in power. This once-proud organization has been reduced to nothing more than a cheap accessory for Museveni, a hollow shell that only exists to serve his twisted ambitions. Every decision, every move made within the NRM reeks of Museveni’s self-serving agenda, a rancid stench that fills every corner of the political landscape.
Museveni’s tentacles have reached deep into the heart of the NRM, dismantling any democratic processes and silencing anyone who dares to question him. The party is now a machine of oppression, suffocating Uganda’s hope for a better future. And Ssemujju’s accusations? They’re not just whispers in the wind—they’re the brutal truth that Ugandans must confront. Museveni has raped the NRM, stripping it of its core values, leaving behind a soulless corpse that he manipulates at will to secure his eternal reign.
Ssemujju, one of the few with the backbone to call out this nightmare, is a rare voice in a sea of spineless cowards. In a toxic political environment where licking Museveni’s boots is the price of survival, Ssemujju’s unyielding stand against this sham regime is the only spark of hope left. The NRM, once a beacon of promise, has been reduced to a sick joke—a joke where the punchline is Museveni’s iron-fisted rule and the people of Uganda are left gasping for air.
Museveni doesn’t care about Uganda or its people. He doesn’t give a damn about the NRM either. For him, it’s just another tool to fuel his despotic delusions. The constitution? Just another obstacle for him to bulldoze. The man has shamelessly manipulated the law, scraping away term limits and age limits so he can cling to power like a parasite. To Museveni, Uganda is his personal playground, and the NRM is the swing set from which he lords over the country, daring anyone to push him off.
Uganda’s elections? Don’t even call them elections. They’re rigged spectacles designed to give a pathetic facade of legitimacy to a regime that should’ve been ousted decades ago. The NRM has become Museveni’s bludgeon to crush political dissent, suffocating the people’s cries for change. The ordinary Ugandan has been left in the dirt, trampled under the boots of Museveni’s security forces while the elites of the NRM feast on the country’s stolen wealth. And what do we get? More lies, more repression, more misery.
Uganda is on the edge of an abyss. The NRM, as long as it remains in Museveni’s grip, is a death sentence for the country. There is no future under this regime—no hope, no progress, no freedom. Museveni must be torn down, dismantled like the corrupt tyrant he is, along with his lapdogs in the NRM. The time has come for Ugandans to rise and rip apart the chains that Museveni has so tightly bound around the country’s neck. Uganda deserves better, and that future can only begin when Museveni’s empire of lies and repression finally crumbles into the dust.
