The NRM Secretary General, Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong has commended the government of China for generously contributing to Uganda’s growth and development, as well as the prosperity of Ugandans, through numerous infrastructure projects.

He made this statement today at the NRM Headquarters, located at Plot 10, Kyadondo Road, Kampala, as he hosted a delegation from the Communist Party of China (CPC). The CPC officials led by the Director General of the International Liaisons Department, Ms. Rao Huihoa, are in Uganda to discuss possible avenues to support the ruling NRM in capacity building of human resources.

“We discussed a significant number of fraternal interests. We extended our gratitude to the Communist Party of China for consistently standing with the NRM and the majority of African revolutionary parties, particularly in building their capacities,” Todwong said.

He added that “We have shared a great deal, and they have invited me to Beijing for two days to discuss further issues and attend an international conference that gathers political party leaders from across the globe.”

Todwong who described the CPC visit to the NRM as very fruitful, said the party looks forward to consolidating further discussions in the interest of both Uganda and China.

The engagement at the Headquarters also featured the NRM deputy Secretary General, Rt. Hon. Rose Namayanja, Deputy National Treasurer, Jacqueline Kyatuhiare, Director of External Affairs, Maj. (Rtd) Awich Pollar, NRM Electoral Commission Vice Chairman, Fred Omach and Director of Communication, Hon.Emmanuel Dombo.
