Patrick Amuriat, the embattled president of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), is a disgrace to Uganda’s political opposition. His baseless accusations against Joel Ssenyonyi, Leader of the Opposition, expose a pathetic cocktail of arrogance, dishonesty, and self-preservation that has reduced the once-formidable FDC into a joke. Amuriat’s claim that his party was deliberately excluded from the opposition caucus is not just laughable—it is a brazen lie concocted by a man desperate to remain relevant.

Let’s be clear: Amuriat was personally invited to the caucus by Ssenyonyi, who made two direct phone calls. The man had the audacity to hang up on both attempts like an overgrown toddler throwing a tantrum. When Ssenyonyi followed up with a message, the self-proclaimed opposition leader couldn’t muster the decency to respond. Amuriat’s actions betray not just his colleagues but the entire nation, showing he lacks the spine or integrity to lead anything remotely important.

Amuriat’s latest tantrum is just another attempt to paint himself as a victim. In reality, he’s nothing more than a coward hiding behind empty rhetoric. His cry that the FDC is the “unwanted opposition” is both absurd and insulting to Ugandans who have long fought against President Museveni’s tyranny. The truth is Amuriat has sidelined himself and his party through gross incompetence, internal chaos, and unchecked ego. His ridiculous claim that Erias Lukwago does not represent the FDC is an affront to the party’s values and a blatant act of sabotage against opposition unity.

Under Amuriat’s disastrous leadership, the FDC has become a cesspool of infighting, betrayal, and failure. Party stalwarts have fled in droves, unable to stomach his clueless governance. What remains is a broken shell of what was once a powerful force for change. Instead of fixing this mess, Amuriat spends his time playing petty political games, undermining efforts to unite the opposition against Museveni’s kleptocratic regime.

The Monday caucus was a platform to address the rampant corruption suffocating Uganda and express solidarity with political prisoners like Dr. Kizza Besigye. Instead of stepping up, Amuriat chose to sulk and spew nonsense on social media, dragging the FDC further into irrelevance. His refusal to attend wasn’t a political statement—it was sheer cowardice and self-importance.

Amuriat is not a victim; he is a saboteur. His actions serve Museveni more than they serve Ugandans. By undermining unity within the opposition, he gives the regime more room to continue looting the country and oppressing its people. Amuriat’s leadership—or lack thereof—is a gift to Museveni, ensuring that the opposition remains fragmented and toothless.

Uganda deserves better than this spineless charlatan. Amuriat has failed his party, his supporters, and his country. He is a parasite feeding off the sacrifices of genuine leaders while offering nothing but chaos and excuses. It’s time for him to step aside and let the FDC rebuild from the ashes he created.

Patrick Amuriat, pack your lies and failures and leave. Uganda’s fight for freedom has no place for cowards like you. History will remember you, not as a leader, but as the man who buried the FDC.
