Speaker Anita Among has called on Members of Parliament and leaders across the country to consolidate efforts in the fight against cases of gender-based violence in Uganda.

The Speaker’s call comes at the commencement of the 16 days of activism against gender-based violence which began on Monday, 25 November 2024.
“As we are aware, both women and men are potential victims and perpetrators of gender-based violence. A peaceful society begins with a peaceful family, so as leaders, I want us to ensure that we have a peaceful society by ensuring that we advocate for non-violence,” Among said.
