Ruth Nyiraneza’s abrupt withdrawal from the Kisoro Woman MP by-election has ripped apart the already fractured NRM party, leaving them reeling in utter disgrace. This is more than just a withdrawal—it’s a public rejection, a fiery middle finger aimed at a corrupt and rotten political establishment that thought it could shove another Mateke puppet down the throats of Kisoro voters. The so-called “powerful” Mateke family, now reduced to a joke, has become a laughingstock—a crumbling dynasty humiliated beyond repair. It’s a sickening spectacle for a party that parades itself as Uganda’s political powerhouse.

Pathetic doesn’t even begin to describe it. Just weeks ago, the NRM’s pathetic bootlickers were on their knees at Mzee Dr. Philemon Mateke’s estate in Bugahe village, Nyakabingo parish. Like spineless servants, they drooled over Ruth Nyiraneza, touting her as the next “gift” to the people of Kisoro, a piece of Mateke property to be transferred at will. Led by the embarrassing sycophant John Kamara Niziyemana, these fools insulted the intelligence of Kisoro residents, thinking they could install Ruth as the district’s MP with a mere council vote. The NRM’s rotten game plan to push yet another Mateke crony has now been exposed, and with it, their utter contempt for true democratic processes.

Kamara, the chief groveler, had the audacity to declare, “There is no need to traverse the district soliciting for votes. Ruth Nyiraneza should complete her sister’s term, and we will see what happens in 2026.” You can almost hear the smugness dripping from his words—what arrogance, what blatant disregard for the will of the people! And now, with Ruth’s sudden exit, Kamara and his band of sniveling supporters are left floundering like headless chickens. The people of Kisoro have seen right through this despicable charade, and the NRM is being torn apart by its own foolishness.

Dr. James Nsaba Buturo, Eddie Kwizera WaGahungu, Alex Niyonsaba Seruganda, and the other lapdogs of the NRM should be cowering in shame. They exploited the death of Sarah Mateke like vultures circling a carcass, pretending to honor her while maneuvering to keep their dirty claws locked onto power. Their grotesque scheme to turn the by-election into a cheap family coronation has blown up in their faces. Nyiraneza’s refusal is a public slap—a ferocious rejection of the party’s twisted political games and a massive blow to the Mateke clan’s credibility.

Eddie Kwizera’s pitiful plea, “We ask the Mateke family to give us a replacement that will fit in her daughter’s shoes,” sounds like the desperate whining of a political pimp caught in a web of his own deceit. The once-revered Mateke family is now being dragged around like a worn-out puppet controlled by the NRM’s filthy hands. They’ve been exposed for what they really are—nothing more than pawns in the game of a regime hell-bent on clinging to power.

So where does this leave the NRM? Floundering, humiliated, and utterly clueless. With Nyiraneza’s withdrawal, they’ve been stripped bare, left to scramble like panicked rats as their power slips through their fingers. Their shameless desperation is on full display, and Kisoro is left to sift through the wreckage of this political disaster orchestrated by these clownish buffoons.

This debacle lays bare the NRM’s rotten core—their obsession with power and disregard for democratic principles. It’s a stinging reminder that the once-mighty Mateke empire is now nothing but a hollow, putrid shell. The people of Kisoro deserve better than this vile spectacle of power-hungry greed and grotesque family theatrics.
