Erias Luyimbazi Nalukoola, the long-suffering Legal Advisor of the Democratic Party (DP), has finally thrown in the towel, shattering the silence on the vile cesspool Norbert Mao has dragged the party into. His scathing resignation letter is a brutal exposé of Mao’s grotesque betrayal and shameless collusion with the tyrannical NRM regime. Nalukoola’s fiery exit isn’t just a protest—it’s a blistering indictment of how Mao has morphed into Museveni’s shameless servant, prostituting DP’s legacy for a few measly crumbs of power.

The so-called “cooperation agreement” between DP and the NRM is nothing more than a backroom deal dripping with corruption, deceit, and absolute disrespect for the DP members and their decades-long fight for democracy. Nalukoola ripped into Mao’s slimy scheme, laying bare the dirty details of how Mao signed the party’s soul away to the regime’s vultures without so much as a whisper to DP’s governing organs. Like a conniving rat, Mao snuck past the National Council and the party’s constitution to cozy up to Museveni’s bloodthirsty clique, selling DP’s dignity for a tiny piece of the power pie.

“This blatant refusal by the Secretary General to convene a National Council Meeting, as demanded by members, has shredded the party’s democratic processes and turned the DP’s constitution into a worthless piece of toilet paper,” Nalukoola blasted in his resignation letter dated October 8, 2024. His words cut like a blade through the bullshit, exposing the ugly truth: DP’s leadership has become a cesspool of arrogance, dictatorship, and treachery.

But Mao’s filth doesn’t end there. No, he didn’t just sell DP’s soul to Museveni’s fangs—he’s holding onto the DP President General title while shamelessly licking Museveni’s boots as the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs. The greed and hypocrisy are staggering! This slimy double-dealing obliterates every standard of collective responsibility, shredding the very foundations of DP’s crumbling house. With Mao gluttonously stuffing his pockets with Museveni’s corrupt coins, the once-proud Democratic Party has been gutted into a spineless, whimpering shadow of its former self.

Nalukoola rightly condemned this gutless, treacherous leadership that’s ripping the party’s core values apart. “I feel disgusted by the current trajectory of our party’s leadership, which is detrimental to the party’s core values and against my conscience,” he spat. And who could blame him? The filth is deep, and Mao’s revolting maneuvers have dragged DP into the darkest, nastiest corners of Museveni’s suffocating grip. Grinning like a demonic snake, Mao has sold off DP’s dignity for a cheap ministerial post and a few dirty coins from Museveni’s overflowing corruption pot.

But it gets worse. The agreement itself is a death sentence: by 2026, there will be no DP structures left in the central region—a clear sign that Mao’s goal is to annihilate DP, wipe it off the political map, and leave its bleeding carcass to rot in the sun. This isn’t just betrayal—it’s political murder. He’s not just stabbing his party in the back—he’s ripping out its guts and laughing while he does it.

DP’s few remaining loyalists aren’t giving up without a fight. A group of furious legislators, led by MP Richard Lumu Kizito, has dragged Mao’s treachery to the Constitutional Court, aiming to tear this filthy agreement to shreds. They argue that Mao signed this monstrosity without proper authority, consultation, or consent from the National Executive Committee. They want this foul pact buried in the dirt where it belongs, before Mao buries DP along with it.

Even as he steps down from his advisory role, Nalukoola is not walking away from DP entirely. “I cannot leave the DP; it’s the party that nurtured me,” he stated defiantly. But with Mao and his pack of backstabbers gutting the party from the inside out, what is left to fight for? As DP collapses into a pit of dust and disgrace, one can only hope that its remaining members can salvage what little dignity is left—before Mao’s putrid betrayal seals DP’s coffin shut forever.
