The Chief of Defence Forces of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF), Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, inspected independence parade preparations in Busia ahead of the 62nd Independence Day celebrations.

The event will take place at Busikho Teachers Demonstration Primary School in the border district.

Gen Kainerugaba thanked parade participants for their efforts, particularly in incorporating new aspects of marching and military songs. He praised the band for mastering the songs and encouraged them to maintain the high standard.

By inspecting preparations personally, the CDF demonstrated his commitment to perfection and emphasised the importance of neatness during the parade.

Gen Kainerugaba was joined by local Members of Parliament, leaders, Maj Gen Don Nabasa (3Div Commander), and senior military and security officers from prisons and Uganda Police.

President Yoweri Museveni is expected to preside over the 62nd independence anniversary.
