Dr. Kizza Besigye’s so-called People’s Freedom Front (PFF) has finally wormed its way into the good graces of the shamelessly corrupt Electoral Commission. But let’s not kid ourselves—this is no victory for democracy. It’s a farce. A vile, staged performance meant to hoodwink Ugandans desperately clinging to the hope of real opposition leadership. This whole charade is nothing more than a well-placed decoy, a deceitful ploy engineered to splinter the opposition and feed into Museveni’s grand scheme of eternal rule.
Besigye, a man who was once revered for standing up to Museveni, has now become a laughable caricature of his former self. Surrounded by spineless political opportunists like Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago and shameless FDC defectors like Ssemuju Nganda and Munyagwa, he is no longer the defiant opposition leader Ugandans once believed in. No, this PFF isn’t a political powerhouse. It’s a pathetic mess of desperate traitors who have sold their souls for a shot at reclaiming relevance. This entire fiasco is a sad attempt to cling to the fading embers of Besigye’s glory days.
And what about the Electoral Commission? The same crooks who conveniently “rejected” PFF’s initial application due to supposed “branding issues” have now turned around and embraced it with open arms. What a joke! Why would a man of Besigye’s political experience and history deliberately choose a name and colors that would undoubtedly cause confusion? Because the PFF was never designed to be a distinct political entity—it was concocted to create chaos and disorient opposition supporters. It’s a dirty trick straight out of the NRM’s playbook, meant to divide and conquer, all while laughing in the faces of Ugandans who still dream of a united opposition.
And the Electoral Commission’s sudden change of heart? It’s nothing more than a slap in the face to all who’ve dared to believe in fair play. The very same Commission that has stood by, silently complicit in every rigged election, every violation of democracy, suddenly found a moral compass to dissect PFF’s application? It’s laughable! This entire process was a rehearsed sham—a choreographed puppet show meant to convince Ugandans that their “opposition” is alive and well, while in reality, Museveni and his cronies are the ones pulling the strings from behind the curtain.
Now that PFF has been “approved,” they are gearing up to collect signatures. But let’s not be naïve—this is just another cog in a well-oiled propaganda machine. Even if Besigye’s PFF manages to scrape together the required signatures, does anyone really believe that the Electoral Commission will play fair? Hell no! This is the same corrupt circus that rubber-stamps every crooked move Museveni makes. They’ll pretend to validate signatures, all while secretly planning their next betrayal. This entire process is a charade—just another baited trap for Besigye’s supporters to fall into.
To make matters worse, Besigye’s new party doesn’t unify the opposition. It weakens it. While the likes of Bobi Wine and the National Unity Platform (NUP) have been gaining traction and rallying the masses, Besigye chose to create yet another worthless splinter group, serving Museveni’s agenda to further fracture any semblance of opposition unity. It’s not a strategy—it’s a sickening betrayal. A betrayal of every Ugandan who dared to hope that Besigye still had some fight left in him. Instead, he’s shown himself to be a pitiful pawn in Museveni’s twisted game.
Ugandans, open your eyes. This sickening alliance between Besigye’s PFF and the corrupt Electoral Commission is not a move towards democracy—it’s a sinister joke meant to fool us while Museveni’s stranglehold tightens. This so-called “opposition” party is nothing but a Trojan horse, a wolf in sheep’s clothing meant to distract us from the real fight. The PFF will not bring change; it will only serve as a smokescreen, ensuring that Museveni’s iron fist remains firmly clenched around Uganda’s throat in 2026.
The show may have changed its actors, but the script remains the same. Once again, Ugandans are being played for fools, and once again, it’s the people who will pay the ultimate price.
