Yoweri Museveni, a man so soaked in the stench of deceit that even a sewer rat would steer clear of him, has once again spewed another heap of nauseating lies in his relentless pursuit to maintain his iron-fisted grip on Uganda. This time, his latest outrageous fabrication? Accusing Bobi Wine’s National Unity Platform (NUP) of rigging the 2021 elections by over one million votes. It’s beyond ludicrous—a grotesque mockery of the truth crafted by a dictator who has mastered the art of deception and manipulation.
Museveni’s disgraceful claims, made at a Thanksgiving service for the late General Aronda Nyakairima, reek of desperation and are a pathetic attempt to distract Ugandans from his decades-long charade of rigged elections, oppression, and brutal dictatorship. Here’s a man who has ruthlessly rigged every single election in his favour since the 1980s, now pointing fingers at NUP? The stinking hypocrisy is unbearable. Only a man drowning in his own lies could dare accuse others of the very crimes he has perfected over the years.
It’s a tragic joke. If there’s anyone in Uganda who has a PhD in election rigging, it’s Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. From unleashing military thugs on innocent voters to shamelessly stuffing ballot boxes, Museveni’s name has become synonymous with electoral fraud. He’s the undisputed champion of cheating, and his laughable attempt to frame NUP for rigging is just the latest chapter in his never-ending book of deception.
The irony? Museveni controls every single piece of the electoral machinery in Uganda. He handpicks his cronies to sit on the Electoral Commission and strategically plants loyalists within the Supreme Court. He has his greasy fingers in every pie, and yet, he has the nerve to claim he’s a victim of election fraud? It’s sickening. If anything, the 2021 election rigging was just another installment of his long-running con game, where he once again secured victory through sheer dishonesty and brute force.
And now, his so-called “solution” to prevent future fraud is laughable in its absurdity. Museveni’s suggestion to introduce electronic voting systems is nothing more than another sinister ploy to tighten his suffocating grip on Uganda’s electoral process. Who is foolish enough to believe that electronic voting machines in Museveni’s Uganda would be free from manipulation? In a country where the state controls everything, these machines will only serve as new tools for Museveni to rig future elections with even more precision. His promises of transparency are as worthless as the man himself—a serial liar whose word means absolutely nothing.
What’s worse, Museveni has the audacity to suggest suspending elections if these machines malfunction, dragging out the process for as long as it takes to rig the results in his favour. Make no mistake: this is all part of his grand scheme to cling to power like a leech, sucking the life out of Uganda’s democracy while pretending to be its protector. The very idea that Museveni, the architect of Uganda’s broken political system, is now crying foul about election fraud is a slap in the face to every Ugandan who has suffered under his corrupt regime.
To add salt to the wound, Museveni used the memorial service for General Aronda Nyakairima, a respected military figure, as a platform to vomit out his lies. Exploiting the memory of a fallen soldier to push his vile agenda is the lowest form of political theatre. Museveni has no shame, no honour, and no respect for the dead, only an insatiable thirst for power that knows no bounds. He paints himself as the guardian of Uganda’s democracy, but in reality, he’s the disease that’s slowly killing it from within.
Ugandans are not fools. They’ve seen through Museveni’s charade for far too long. His endless stream of lies, his cruel manipulations, and his empty promises of reform are nothing more than the desperate rants of a power-hungry tyrant, scrambling to maintain his stranglehold on a nation he has bled dry. It’s time the world stops falling for Museveni’s con game and recognises him for the monster he truly is—a despicable dictator who will stop at nothing to keep himself entrenched in power, even if it means suffocating Uganda’s future in the process.
