The Museveni family’s shameless manipulation knows no bounds, and this time, they’ve turned to religion to continue their disgusting power grab. President Yoweri Museveni, his scheming wife Janet, and their puppet daughter Pastor Patience Rwabwogo are parading around like they’re Uganda’s divine saviors. The so-called “Light Up Eastern Region for Jesus” conference was nothing more than a sickening stage for the tyrant to fake piety while continuing to crush the very people he claims to serve.
Museveni, the blood-stained dictator who has brutalized Uganda for decades, now has the audacity to claim that his daughter has brought him closer to God. What a pathetic joke! The timing couldn’t be more convenient — as his regime faces mounting criticism and rebellion, he suddenly “finds religion.” How typical of this corrupt family to use God as a shield to hide their dirty deeds. Museveni stood before the crowd, boasting about his family’s sudden connection to the divine, reminiscing about their cattle-herding days and lack of ties to the church. Yet, here he is, pretending to have some spiritual awakening through his daughter’s hollow ministry.
The real truth behind this pathetic spectacle is the Museveni dynasty’s cynical manipulation of religion for personal gain. Patience Rwabwogo, the so-called “pastor,” is nothing but a pawn in her father’s disgusting charade. She masquerades as a woman of God, while in reality, she’s just another tool in this family’s quest for absolute power. Her church, Covenant Nations, is merely a front for the family’s political agenda, used to spread propaganda and silence critics. Museveni’s self-congratulatory remarks about having a priest in his family were nothing more than an insult to the intelligence of Ugandans, who have suffered under his brutal regime for far too long. The idea that his ruthless reign is somehow divinely blessed is a slap in the face to every Ugandan who knows the truth.
In his speech, Museveni even had the gall to admit he never paid attention to Patience’s “ministry” because, according to him, there were already enough priests. What a laugh! He never cared because there was nothing in it for him. But now, after reading his daughter’s book — which is undoubtedly full of self-righteous nonsense — he suddenly becomes enlightened about the Bible. The reality is, Museveni doesn’t give a damn about scripture. He’s just trying to rebrand himself as some sort of religious figure to trick Ugandans into believing he’s changed.
But let’s not forget the irony in all of this. Museveni had the nerve to criticize the Scripture Union for teaching that earthly wealth is insignificant, all while claiming that his family values hard work and economic empowerment. What a hypocrite! This is the same man whose regime has driven millions of Ugandans into poverty while he and his corrupt cronies hoard unimaginable wealth. Now, with his daughter pushing a message of unity and poverty eradication, he hopes to cover up the trail of destruction he has left in his wake. His laughable claims of promoting unity among ethnic groups, particularly between the Bateso and Badama in Eastern Uganda, are just more hollow promises. He has done nothing but sow division and despair throughout the country.
And Janet Museveni, the so-called First Lady, is no better. Always by her husband’s side, she pretends to be some sort of spiritual guide, but in reality, she is complicit in the same disgusting game of religious exploitation. Her presence at the event only solidifies the image of a corrupt, power-hungry family that will do anything to cling to control. Seeing Janet and Museveni anoint Eastern Uganda with their fake holiness is enough to make anyone sick to their stomachs.
Ugandans know what this family is really about. The Museveni clan’s exploitation of religion is nothing new — they have used every possible tool at their disposal to maintain power for over three decades. But this latest act, cloaking their tyranny in God’s name, is the most revolting yet. No amount of scripture quoting or church appearances will erase the suffering they’ve caused. Ugandans see through this façade, and no one is fooled by their desperate attempts to hold on to power.
The day this family is toppled will be a day of liberation for Uganda. Their hypocrisy, corruption, and lies have gone on long enough. Their blasphemous exploitation of faith for political gain must be exposed and condemned. Ugandans deserve leaders who serve them, not manipulate them through God’s name.
