Why Are You A Christian?

Many years ago, we took our kids to Parlee Beach. With a few of their friends. When we were at the beach, some of the kids took off into the Atlantic Ocean. We had these others to look after on land. Now, the three who had ran off into the Ocean were good swimmers (FYI, our family has a swimming pool).

Then a wave came in. A huge wave. Total Panic because we were not sure that those 3 kids could swim out of that wave. Shortly, a gentleman comes with one kid on his shoulders and two in his arms. Had it been in France, he would have been wearing a Spedo. He was wearing boxer swimming shorts. **I digress**

I thanked that very handsome Gentleman profoundly. To the point of tears. Then said “God Bless You. Jesus Christ is Amazing”.

Imagine my shock, Dude goes “Seriously, why are you a Christian? Jesus was not the one who dashed into that tide and saved your kids”.

I counted up to 10. **This is a trick my oldest sister taught me. Makhame, whenever you feel like caling someone an Imbecile, count up to 10 slowly**.

Finally, totally calm, I asked the Gentleman “Why I am a Christian. Do you want the Readers Digest or the full story?”

DUDE… Give me the Long Version. — I gave him the short version because the long version is in my upcoming book.

“Mr. You are like Jesus. You saw weak children being confronted by the Sea and you rushed in and brought them to safety. Let’s trace your footsteps and the ones of those kids. You will see that your footsteps are very big.”

MR. The long version of why I am a Christian is a story I have been writing for a while and one day, I will publish it. The Title is “Why Martha Leah Nangalama Walks with Jesus”
