Something just happened to me now and I remembered my late Mother in Law, Denise.

The first time I met her, a few funny things happened. There was a big party for her 60th birthday (Looong Story).

Next day, she wakes us up (we were jetlagged 8hrs – Toronto to Paris). he was dressed in 4 inch heels, mini skirt, make up, jewellery. I asked her where she was taking me. She said “to go feed the chickens, rabbits & sheep”. Holly Molly. Who wears make up, high heels and a Miniskirt to go feed animals? But it is what it was and sometimes, we do not even know what it is.

Now, walking behind her, their dog was running ahead. That dog’s name was Minette. Denise kept talking to the dog. “Calme toi, calm down Minette”. However, Minette was wild. Very wild.

I thought…in my country people don’t talk to dogs. One might be talked about that they saw you talking to a dog.

Fast Forward. Today, 28 August 2024, I was going to the garden to get some tomatoes and herbs. The dog followed me (I will not say his name because his owner is on TikTok). I asked Teddy why he was following me. No reply. Then I went to feed the chickens & turkeys. He followed me.

Anyway and so, I finally had a talk with him.”Why do you follow me everywhere? Don’t you have a life or friends OR both?” This is when I remembered Denise with her Poodle. I miss her and Gaston (my late Father in Law)…. very much. Has been only a bit north of a year since my Parents in Law died last May. God have Mercy.
