Busia Police are holding one Muluye Hamudan, a key suspect in the case of aggravated robbery registered under CRB 699/2024.

On July 4, 2024, at around 1930 hours, one Shamusita Tukahirwa, a mobile money agent who operates from Arubaine market, Arubaine B village, Busia municipality, Busia District, was robbed of cash estimated to be over ten million shillings (10,000,000=) and five telephones.

It is alleged that she was waylaid by two persons armed with a gun as she disembarked from a boda-boda to a boutique in town.

A day after the incident, Police in Busia arrested a key suspect identified as Muluye Hamudan.

Muluye was previously arrested for falsely presenting himself as a Major of the UPDF.

“Our team of investigators suspects that he could be an impersonator. We are working with our sister agency (UPDF) to verify that information,” said ACP Rusoke Kituuma, Press and Public Relations Officer.

He added: “Vital exhibits have been recovered during a search, including an FFU uniform and a Ministry of Defence stamp.”
