Police in Mpigi District are grappling with the gruesome discovery of 17 human skulls at a site once used as a shrine in Kabanga Village, Mpigi Town Council. The macabre find, reported by two children foraging for firewood, has sent shockwaves through the community and raised disturbing questions about ritualistic murders.
The site, now a crime scene, is owned by Tabula Bbosa Lujja, the prime suspect in the brutal murder of Daniel Bbosa, former head of the Ndiga Clan in Buganda Kingdom. Despite police efforts to excavate the area for more remains, the steep terrain thwarted their search, leaving the full extent of the horror unknown.
Local clan member Mr. Sserunkuma Bbosa expressed his disbelief, recalling gatherings at the site for worship but never suspecting such sinister activities. The community is reeling from the revelations, with many questioning how such barbaric practices could occur unnoticed.
The discovery has cast a dark shadow over the Buganda Kingdom, with Information Minister Israel Kazibwe Kitooke vehemently condemning human sacrifice as an abomination in Ganda culture. He has called for a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind this atrocity.
Katonga Regional Police spokesperson, Mr. Majid Karim, urged patience as detectives continue their search for more evidence and possible suspects. “It is too early to speculate who is behind these heinous acts,” he stated, highlighting the urgent need for justice.
As police intensify their investigation, the community remains on edge, haunted by the chilling possibility of further dark secrets buried beneath the shrine’s cursed ground. The hunt for Lujja, who remains at large, adds a menacing edge to this unfolding nightmare.
