Kampala, Uganda – 27th June 2024: The International Standards Organisation (ISO), a global organization that sets and promotes global standards of goods, services and how business should be done, has reaffirmed and approved of Airtel Uganda’s information security systems management and business continuity management practices.
Airtel Uganda, announced the recognition today, following the renewal of its two ISO certificates including; 27001 -2022 Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) and 22301- 2019 Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS).
Commenting on the recognition, manoj murali, Airtel Uganda’s Managing Director said, “We are pleased to be independently recognized for our demonstrated commitment to delivering world-class practices in information systems security management. The evaluation covered network planning against international standards, professionalism and security of network operations, and the infrastructure supporting these operations (including operational support systems, transmission, core, value-added services, and billing systems).
Additionally, the ISO examined Airtel Uganda’s commitment to international standards for Business Continuity Management systems by evaluating the existence and effectiveness of their disaster recovery plans, resources, and personnel expertise.
David Birungi, Airtel Uganda’s Public Relations Manager added, “International standards are crucial for companies like ours to adhere to. These standards ensure the daily products and services you use are safe, reliable, and of high quality. They also guide businesses towards adopting sustainable and ethical practices, ultimately creating a future where customer purchases not only excel in performance but also safeguard our planet. At Airtel, we are committed to continuously raising the standards of the services we provide in the communities we serve.”
