Police place Shs10m bounty on Kyambogo lecturer who defiled 16-year-old

The Directorate of CID appeals to whoever has credible information that may lead to the arrest of Dr Eron Lawrence, aged 56, whose photograph has been shared, for the alleged Aggravated Defilement, of a 16-year-old, visually impaired, vulnerable girl victim, to pass it in confidence to the nearest police station or ring, contact number 0741-111-333 of CID Headquarters, Kibuli.

The wanted suspect held the position of Dean of the Faculty of Special Needs and Rehabilitation at Kyambogo University and was the Project Administrator “All we see is possibility”, which he used to gain the trust of the victim.

A substantial cash reward of Ugx 10m, awaits any member of the public, who avails us of information that can lead to his arrest.

“We believe, the suspect is still hiding within the country, with the help of his closest relative, and friends. We want to warn anyone, who will be found harbouring or aiding his escape, that it is an offence punishable by law,” said SCP Fred Enanga, police spokesperson.

They will be arrested and charged with harbouring or aiding the escape of a wanted suspect. In addition, CID headquarters has processed a warrant of arrest and submitted it to Interpol, to issue a Red Notice against him. The suspect is wanted for a straightforward case of Aggravated Defilement.

“All wanted persons in Uganda, should know that there is no hiding place, that is out of reach. We, therefore, urge, the suspect to turn in and defend himself. A wanted poster is available on the police website and various social media platforms,” noted Enanga.

He added: “Once again, anyone with information about Dr. Eron Lawrence, whereabouts should call CID Headquarters on telephone number 0741-111-333. We will never stop pursuing the suspect. We will find him and bring him to justice.”
