By MARTHA LEAH NANGALAMA

About 10 years ago, I was a volunteer editor for a Ugandan tabloid. One time, one of the owners of the tabloid texted me. “Leah, I sent you 28 stories to post for tomorrow. Do it as soon as you wake up”.

Now, I am looking at this guy. “What is the Magic Word?”

ROGER: Magic word is EDIT.

I edited the stories and posted them.

LEAH: Done.

ROGER: Okay

LEAH: Magic word please!!

ROGER: I said OK.

I then deleted all the 28 stories and emptied trash.

He then calls me hissing. “What did you just do Leah?”

Can you imagine a University graduate can’t say PLEASE or THANK YOU?

I am not SORRY about sharing this story. People, learn to say PLEASE and THANK YOU. It will take you places. I sweya!!
