The Territorial Police at Katwe are actively investigating an incident of aggravated robbery that occurred on the 28th of May, 2024, at the residence of Baguma Frederick, a police officer residing in Kirinda Busabala Parish, Makindye Ssabagabo, Wakiso District.

At approximately 3:00 AM, it is alleged that assailants gained access to Officer Baguma’s residence and stole a flat-screen television valued at 1.2 million UGX and a small bag containing an unspecified amount of money.

The assailants inflicted injuries on the victim before fleeing the scene. Officer Baguma promptly reported the incident to the police.

Upon receiving the report, the Police Canine Unit was deployed to the scene. The canine unit successfully tracked the scent to a nearby construction site, leading to the arrest of four suspects: Mukiibi Umar, Mawanda Jimmy, Ecau Abraham, and Canodia Joseph.

While no stolen items were recovered at the time of arrest, the suspects are currently detained at Katwe Police Station as the investigation continues.

“We assure the public that more details will be provided as soon as they become available,” said ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Public Relations officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police.
