Muhwezi, Kabasweka win first round of IM Bank Katogo Golf Series

Entebbe, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Perez Muhwezi and in form Peace Kabasweka remained supreme on the par 71, Entebbe course on Saturday as they claimed the overall crowns in the Men’s and Ladies category in the first leg of the IM Bank Golf Series.

Muhwezi shot a round of 71 nett on count back to beat a field of 224 golfers while Kabasweka winner of the recent Entebbe Ladies Open was once again picking another accolade on the podium with a score of 78 nett on count back.

According to a press release from Entebbe Club, the next round will be held on June 29 with the format changing to “Tee for Me” with pairs competing with both players tee off at each hole switching balls for second shot. The net score determines the team score with each pair designated six holes for individual play with the worse net score counting.

Vincent Katutsi with 81 gross was the gross winner. Paul Habyarimana was the winner Group A with 76 nett while Brian Omeda, was Group B winner 71 nett on count back.

Omar Badreldin 74 nett was Group C winner. Sarah Nduhukire, was winner Ladies Group A with 80 nett on count back while Shalom Kayenje, was winner Group B with 78 nett.

No golfer hit and ace to claimed the prized car placed for hole 10 by co sponsors Victoria Motors other sponsors where RwandAir, GA Insurance, Fenon Events, Johnnie Walker
