Byaruhanga wins Stanbic Match Qualifiers as 32 pairs advance to Rd 1

Entebbe, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Jaime Byaruganga claimed the Men’s Group A at the Stanbic Match Play Challenge qualifiers at Entebbe Club on Saturday.

Byaruhanga returned to the Club House with 65 nett, beating 280 players who took part in this new look tournament. Paul Habyarimana was runner up with 68 nett.

According to a statement from the club, the challenge saw 32 pairs of golfers advancing to the next round set for April 6, at the Lake Side golf course.

Collins Aritua, claimed the Group B category with 65 nett. Dr Michael Bronze was Group C, winner with 67 nett.

Once again no golfer claimed the Ace on Hole 10, as CFAO Motors, Brand New Car remained intact, the next chance will be offered at the Grand Finale.

Harriet Kitaka, was the Ladies Group A winner with 69 nett while Rukia Nalwoga, was the Ladies winner in Group B with 70 nett. The other co-sponsors are national air carrier Uganda Airlines, DStv Business, AfriSafe Insurance Brokers and Uganda Breweries Limited
