Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Uganda Baati has recently partnered with the E-Trade and Startup Association of Uganda to explore the potential of e-commerce within the steel sector. The collaboration’s primary goals are to enhance customer experience, value, and efficiency, ultimately contributing to economic growth and addressing challenges in online commerce.

During the meeting, Macklean Kukundakwe, the Head of Marketing at Uganda Baati, expressed the company’s commitment to pioneering e-commerce in the steel sector. Kukundakwe emphasized the importance of continuous learning and innovation to increase customer value and streamline service and product delivery processes.

“The steel sector is highly competitive, and it is crucial for us to address our customers’ needs and adapt to the new industrial era,” added Kukundakwe.

Ricky Rapa, Co-founder of SafeBoda and a prominent businessman, commended Uganda Baati for actively participating in the E-Trade and Startup Association. He acknowledged the challenges faced by e-trade businesses and stressed the significance of collaboration among entities in recognizing the relevance of e-commerce.

Rapa also urged policymakers to consult directly with e-commerce traders before implementing policies affecting their market, highlighting the importance of considering the perspectives of those actively involved in the industry.

Ian Rumanyika, the Head of External and Corporate Affairs, expressed the company’s commitment to a two-way knowledge exchange, hoping to learn from existing successful e-commerce startups through regular interactions, incubation programs, and joint innovation projects.

According to Ron Kawamara, the association serves as a platform for startup companies in Uganda, providing them with knowledge, skills, and representation in engaging with stakeholders to find solutions and promote best practices collaboratively, openly, and transparently.

As the leading building solutions provider in Uganda, Uganda Baati’s E-Shop platform aims to offer reliable and convenient end-to-end services, from product browsing on the website to purchasing and delivery.

This strategic collaboration between Uganda Baati and the E-Trade and Startup Association of Uganda is expected to create synergies that support economic growth and address challenges in online commerce, aligning with Uganda’s ongoing efforts to embrace digitalization and entrepreneurship.
