Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Jadu Patel, Suresh Patel, John Muchiri, and Dave Plenderleith emerged as the overall team winners at the Ugandan edition of the Corporate Masters Golf tournament held on Saturday, securing the trophy with 35.75 points. The tournament, in its 13th edition, took place at the par 72 Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa course at Kigo, attracting participants such as business leaders, CEOs, diplomats, expatriates, government officials, and top executives. The event has previously traversed various golf courses in Kenya before extending its reach to Uganda.

The Corporate Masters Golf tournament serves as a platform for premium brands and audiences to network for business while enjoying a round of golf. Martin Kinyua, Head of Marketing and Co-founder of Corporate Masters, highlighted the importance of this series in facilitating business exchange between Kenya and Uganda. The first visit to Uganda received overwhelming support from partnering brands, and Kinyua expressed optimism about the future success of Corporate Masters in Uganda.

The MTN five team secured the runner-up position with 36.25 points, comprised of Thomas Tayebwa, Andrew Bugembe, Albert Gitta, and Bridget Nakamoga.

In individual achievements, Matthew Nviri claimed the overall Men’s winner title with 46 points, while Andrew Kibaya, who achieved an ace on Hole 7, scored 43 points. The Ladies’ winner was Dinah Ongol Scene with 42 points, and Martin Kinyua emerged as the Kenyan winner with 39 points.

The success of the tournament in Uganda has encouraged the organizers to plan a similar event in South Africa. The Corporate Masters Golf tournament in Uganda was supported by sponsors such as DStv Business, Omo Uganda, NSSF, and GA Insurance.
