A Ugandan woman has been robbed by her fiancé, identified as Lukyamuzi Timothy, just days after their traditional Kukyala ceremony. The incident has left the victim’s family in shock and disbelief as they grapple with the betrayal and devastation caused by his actions.

The events unfolded following a joyous Kukyala ceremony, where Lukyamuzi, accompanied by his family members, visited the home of his intended bride to celebrate their impending union. However, what began as a festive occasion soon turned into a nightmare for the woman, whose trust was shattered by the very person she thought she could rely on.

According to the sister of the bride, Lukyamuzi allegedly took advantage of the trust bestowed upon him by the victim, requesting spare keys to her apartment under false pretenses. With access to her home, he reportedly seized the opportunity to carry out a bold theft, leaving the victim’s apartment ransacked and her valuable possessions missing.

Upon returning from work, the victim was met with a scene of devastation as she discovered her belongings gone and her apartment in disarray.

The sister stated, “It’s believed that a large lorry was used to transport the stolen items, including a significant amount of money.”

Despite efforts to locate Lukyamuzi, including filing a police report, he remains at large.

In a desperate plea for assistance, the victim’s family has turned to the community and social media networks, appealing for any information that could lead to Lukyamuzi’s arrest and the recovery of the stolen items.

“We urge anyone with information regarding Lukyamuzi’s whereabouts to come forward and assist in bringing him to justice, not only for the recovery of stolen items but also for the sense of security and peace of mind of the victim,” said the sister of the bride.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Oweyesigire stated that the law enforcement body is investigating the matter. “This is an update. The property was found. Only the TV was mortgaged, as the receipt lists the gentleman as the owner. He said, ‘the man is not on the run.’”
