Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Kenya retained honours in the prestigious Victoria Golf Cup on Saturday despite being held to a draw at the 6th editon at the par 72 Kitante golf course.

Uganda had to win 6 of the 10 singles games to overtake Kenya and claim the trophy, which they last won in 2019 at this very venue.

In the pulsating singles games Uganda won 5 games and the Kenyans claim the same number of games, thus retaining the trophy for good as defending champions.

“We were so close to claiming this trophy,” said Ibrahim Bagalana, one of the Uganda Team players said in an interview. “We shall continue training and trusting the same team.”

The seventh edition will be hosted by Kenya in September.
