President Yoweri Museveni

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has shuffled five commanders of the elite Special Forces Commands (SFC). SFC is an army unit that protects the president, his family members, key government installations and other government officials.

In the changes released to the media by Col Deo Akiiki, the deputy army spokesperson, Col Allan Matsiko who has been director of intelligence in SFC has been assigned to superintend 303 Brigade. Matsiko has been in charge of SFC intelligence for 16 months.

Colonel Asinguza Muserebende who has been director of SFC’s training has been appointed commander Special Forces Group (1SFG) One.

The president has also promoted Lt Col Bagonza to full colonel and appointed him commander of Special Forces Group Two (2SFG).

“The Commander in Chief (CiC) has also appointed Col. Seruyange as Director under Special Forces Command,” said Col. Akiiki.  Although Col. Akiiki did not specify Col. Chris Sseruyange’s duties, URN understands that he has replaced Col. Matsiko as SFC’s intelligence director since the latter is now in charge of 303 Brigade.

Sseruyange last year became a military attaché for Uganda to Saudi Arabia he replaced Maj. Gen Michael Ondoga. Lt. Col Kafeero has been retained as deputy director of intelligence in SFC.
