KAMPALA, UGANDA | Xinhua | An official from Uganda has commended the facilities in the northeast China coastal city of Dalian, the designated host for the International School Sports Federation (ISF) Football World Cup.
Justus Mugisha, President of the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) and also the President of the ISF Technical Commission for Football, recently visited Dalian from January 22-26. The purpose of his visit was to inspect the facilities in his capacity as the ISF Technical Commission President.
Mugisha expressed his satisfaction, stating, “I am pleased to announce that the facilities in Dalian City are of a high standard and exceeded all expectations ahead of the event to take place May 17-27, 2024.”
The upcoming tournament, scheduled for May, is anticipated to draw teams from various continents, providing a platform for young talents to showcase their football skills.
In addition to praising the facilities, Mugisha shared that USSSA is diligently working to ensure the participation of two teams, both boys and girls, at the ISF Football World Cup.
It’s worth noting that the ISF Football World Cup was introduced last year during the 50th anniversary of ISF WSC Football. China secured the hosting rights for the first three consecutive ISF Football World Cups: 2024, 2026, and 2028.
