The territorial Police at Wakiso and Bulenga are actively engaged in investigating a fire outbreak that occurred early on Wenesday morning at Bulenga Nakuwadde in Wakiso District.

At approximately 4 am, reports indicate that electricity wires sparked in the area, igniting a fire that swiftly spread to five maize stores and a plastic bag manufacturing company. The Fire Prevention and Rescue team were promptly alerted and responded swiftly, successfully containing and extinguishing the fire.

Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire says that while investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the fire outbreak, initial findings suggest that the businesses affected have incurred significant losses, estimated to be worth billions of shillings.

Fortunately, Owoyesigyire added, no injuries or loss of life have been reported.
