CoCreate Advertising has been named the Social Media and Influencer of the Year at the 2023 Silverback Awards, which took place at the Kampala Serena Hotel. The Silverback Awards, organized by the Uganda Advertising Association (UAA), Uganda Marketers Society (UMS), and Lorries, honor individuals, marketing agencies, brands, or corporations that excel in marketing and advertising.

CoCreate Advertising emerged victorious, beating competitors such as Saladin Media and Advertising, TBWA, Scanad Uganda, and Maad McCann. The awarding criteria are based on the impacts of the campaigns conducted, innovation, and the quality of the work.

Nicole Nyokabi, the general manager of CoCreate, expressed their joy in playing a background role in numerous brand journeys, including Nile Safari Lodge, Bank of Africa, Uganda Airlines, Georgina Eye Clinic’s social media presence, UNFPA, and others.

Aheebwa Job Atwooki, the creative lead at CoCreate, emphasized the significance of the awards in celebrating the people behind good artistic work, brands, and media campaigns. The awards motivate individuals working behind these brands, providing them with a reason to strive for even greater achievements.

CoCreate plans to submit many more works in the future, hoping to receive more recognition and awards. According to Rhoda Musiima, the digital lead at CoCreate, being shortlisted alongside agencies that are older, have been in existence for a longer time, and have larger teams is an achievement. She highlighted that out of all the submissions in the subcategory of websites, only CoCreate’s made it to the finals.

Aheebwa expressed the belief that the awards will attract attention to CoCreate, leading to more opportunities and projects in the advertising sector. The team’s dream is to grow in terms of impact in the industry, emphasizing that quality work is more important than the size or number of clients.
