In some African societies, superstition is still widely pronounced. It is linked to power and wealth as individuals scramble, not only to protect what they have attained but to also access more power and wealth. In the process, they commit heinous crimes, especially what has been classified as ritual murders dubbed “Sacrificing” (Sadaka) in order to please their gods with human blood of their victims. In some countries it is alleged that road, water, rail and air transport accidents that occasionally claim hundreds of human lives are linked to such human sacrificial murders by those associated with the urge to either gain or retain political power.
In Uganda, research shows that ritual murders targeting child victims tend to surge during the electioneering season. Since political power is now closely associated with economic gains, it is therefore more probable that the vice is perpetuated by politicians and oligarchs. Museveni has more than once vaguely confessed that he succumbed to superstition during his Bush War (1981 – 1986).
It is also most likely that among the victims of his said Bush War, there could have been many victims who were deliberately sacrificed. It is not clear if he has been using superstitious undertakings to retain power. However, what is crystal clear is that he enjoys surrounding himself with traditional medicine men and women, some of whom hide under the veil of some so-called Born Again churches.
Museveni has been desperately struggling to retain power at all cost and thousands of citizens have fallen victim to his covert acts intended to suppress dissent. He is desperately trying to have his son, Gen.. Muhoozi to inherit the presidency. Gen.
Muhoozi’s presidential Journey dubbed 49th Birthday was launched during the same period of massive resistance. It was, and continues to be celebrated throughout the country but coincidentally, a number of mysterious road accidents in different parts of the country claimed the lives of hundreds of citizens.
A total of 120 citizens lost their lives this year and many were injured in different road accidents in the country during the period between April 10 and May 14., 2022. The most fatal of them was the one in Fort Portal which claimed the lives of 21 people on the spot, just a a day before the area was to celebrate the Gen. Muhoozi Birthday.
Therefore, if the gods wanted to have some human being blood in order to give blessings to the Muhoozi Project, then they have had more than enough.
