Kampala, 28 November 2024 – Fans of the prime time hit show Crossroadsare in for a treat this festive season with the entry of Ugandan music royalty – Cindy Sanyu as Delilah “Didi” to the show. Known for her chart-topping hits from her days with Blu 3, Cindy who is no stranger to the screen brings to life her apt social moniker “the King herself”.

Cindy arrives to the Pearl Magic Prime stage having made her film debut as the lead in the Ugandan film Bella, earning accolades like nominations at the Africa Movie Academy Awards and the Uganda Film Festival Awards. She later starred in November Tear alongside her partner and fellow actor, Joel Prynce Okuyo, proving her range as a performer.

Now, she steps into the role of Didi, Maria Luwandagga’s sister, who’s back from abroad with a vengeance. Didi suspects Herbert Luwandagga of attacking Maria, and let’s just say their longstanding animosity isn’t about to simmer down. Manipulative and unapologetically ambitious, Didi is ready to shake up the Luwandagga family dynamics, making enemies and stirring chaos.

“This announcement highlights our commitment to bold, relevant, content choices for our audiences.” said Margaret Mathore, Head of Channel, Pearl Magic Prime . “The arrival of truly one of the big stars on the Uganda entertainment stage will elevate the viewing experience to thrilling new heights. We are proud to continue bringing such compelling narratives to our audience.”

Cindy’s arrival as Didi comes at a pivotal moment in Crossroads. This season premieres on Tuesday, 24th December 2024, at 8 PM on Pearl Magic Prime and will air every Monday to Friday at 8:00 PM. The season also follows Kwezi, who is on a mission to rebuild her life after Mckenzie’s betrayal. Heartbroken but determined, Kwezi focuses on her career, opening doors to unexpected opportunities and even the possibility of new love.

As MultiChoice Uganda celebrates its 30th Anniversary, the return of Crossroads also demonstrates the company’s dedication to delivering exceptional local content. “Cindy Sanyu’s arrival is testament to our commitment to the best of Uganda  talent,” said Rinaldi Jamugisa, PR and Communications Manager at MultiChoice Uganda. “Her millions of fans across Uganda feel deeply resonant with this talent choice but this seasons’ twists and turns will also leave them at the edge of their seats”

Show producer, Steven Ayeny, promised an even bigger and more exhilarating season: “we are really glad we managed to land this talent and bring her to the big screen for millions of our fans to enjoy. Viewers will be captivated as they watch her navigate”.
