Notorious cattle thieves nabbed in Kyankwazi

Police in Kyankwanzi District have arrested 05 cattle thieves.

During the operation, police also recovered a motor vehicle reg. No. UAS 77T Toyota Prado which the suspects used in the commission of the offence.

Preliminary investigations pin the detainees as suspected notorious cattle thieves and have been in and out of detention facilities.

They are; Kagulire Farouk, Sebungye Ronald, Kenge Fred, Oneno Segawa Vincent and Kalyango alias younger.

Kagulire had just been released on 25/06/2024 from Masindi prison after serving a 3-year sentence.

Kalyango jumped court bail on a case of cattle theft in Kiboga District.

Operations to crackdown cattle thefts continue in the region of Wamala.

A number of exhibits were also found in their possession.

The car interior had been modified to accommodate stolen animals.

“We thank the waninchi for their support in the fight against this vice and our forces on the ground for a job well done,” said SP Kawala Racheal, PRO Wamala Region.
