Thug caught on video assaulting businessman arrested in Kyotera

Kampala Metropolitan Police has confirmed the arrest of Ashraf Kiiza, the assailant involved in the disturbing incident captured in a viral social media video.

Mr. Kiiza was apprehended by Flying Squad Unit Police officers after being on the run since the evening of May 13, 2024.

Ashraf attempted to rob Mr Turyamuhaki Sam at Bashir Grain Millers in Natete Kutano. Mr. Kiiza, wielding a panga and hammer, violently demanded money from Mr. Turyamuhaki, whom he assaulted.

Mr Turyamuhaki is currently undergoing treatment for his injuries.

Ashraf Kiiza was located in Kyotera on May 15 and is now detained at Nateete Police Station.

Further investigations are ongoing, and he will be prosecuted accordingly in the courts of law.
