Old is gold, and the Tusker Malt Conversessions Episode Five was a golden treat for music enthusiasts.
The dynamic duo, Benon and Vampos, took music lovers on a trip down memory lane, celebrating their illustrious careers in the music industry.
In a surprising move, the show decided to continue to redefine video on-demand entertainment experiences by organising its first-ever exclusive watch party for super fans to watch the episode, a day before its official release.
This new approach offered music lovers a unique opportunity to fully savour the episode while also knocking shoulders with the featuring artiste, Vampos. Despite the absence of Benon Mugumbya, one half of the iconic duo, due to the recent loss of his brother, the event was a success.
Atendees were treated to an inƟmate evening with Vampos who graced the occasion alongside close friends and family. Before the show was screened, Double Black Band entertained guests who showed up at Kardamom And Coffee with a live session.
Roy Tumwizere, the Tusker Malt Brand Manager, shared insights into the decision to host the exclusive watch party, staƟng, “We believe in connecƟng with our consumers in unique and meaningful ways. The watch party provided a platform for fans to get exclusive access and also connect with their favourite stars in a much friendlier environment.”
As for the episode itself, it kicked off with an enticing old school – new school vibe. The laughter, banter, and relatable moments in the episode highlighted why Benon and Vampos are truly admired and known for creating timeless songs.
Benon shed light on his decision to shift to full-time production, saying, “I felt it was no longer fulfilling. I ended up getting comfortable being in the background and creating stepping stones for other young upcoming artistes.” He added, “I’m in a happy place, doing something I’m passionate about, and that’s the creative space.”
The episode also delved into the duo’s family experiences and their journey as a team, before pursuing solo projects with Benon as a Swangz Avenue executive and Vampos rebranded as dancehall artiste Vampino.
In a hearable ‘conversession,’ Vampos praised Benon, saying, “I’m proud that he got himself in line and took a further step to learn production. I’m proud of him for what he does, and I know he would do the same for me if I’m out there.”
As we eagerly await the season finale, speculation over who the final artiste will be is on.
