Ntinda-based radio station, Radio 4, has made a notable addition to its team with the acquisition of renowned radio presenter Bina Babie, also known as Robina Mbabazi Mulera. The announcement was made by Station Manager Adam Kungu in a post on Thursday on X, where he revealed that Bina Babie would host the mid-morning show on the station.
“Your Mid-Mornings are now sorted. The radio giant is in. I welcome the great, the big, and the unmatched Bina Baibe to 103.3 FM Radio 4,” wrote Kungu, although specific details about the arrangement were not provided.
Insiders at the Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi-owned station have disclosed that Bina Babie will lead the Mid-Morning Show, co-hosting it with Tinah Nangonzi. Bina Babie, who recently concluded over 20 years of presenting the mid-morning show ‘Mubeezi’ on Dembe FM, brings a wealth of experience to her new role.
When contacted, Station Manager Adam Kungu affirmed the acquisition of Bina Babie, describing it as a significant addition to one of the leading radio stations in the country. Kungu highlighted that Bina’s extensive following, experience, and strong connection with her fans were key factors in her selection.
“Bina’s work and ability speak for itself, and do, we only promise the best,” Kungu added, indicating that further details about Bina’s on-air schedule would be communicated later.
Before her time at Dembe FM, Bina Babie worked with Uganda Broadcasting Corporation, formerly UTV and Radio Uganda, where she was a teens’ show presenter. She later joined Dembe FM, where she became a beloved figure on the airwaves.
In a 2018 interview with a local newspaper, Bina Babie revealed that she initially aspired to become a medical doctor but was deterred by her fear of dead bodies. Despite briefly enrolling in medical school, she dropped out after a month and pursued a course in accounting at Nkumba University. Bina Babie is the firstborn in a family of five children and completed her education at various institutions, including Lugogo Nursery School, Kitante Primary School, Trinity College Nabbingo, and St. Josephs Naggalama for high school.
