Museveni Promotes 382 UPDF Officers

President Museveni, who doubles as the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, has this Wednesday promoted 382 and confirmed 13 Senior and Junior officer Ranks of the UPDF.

The promoted officials were not named.

But officials said the list is being processed by the Ministry of Defence for publication.

The development comes just days after President Museveni shuffled top military officers in the Special Forces Command. 

The new changes as announced by the Defence Ministry are: 

1. Colonel to Brigadier General                           –  01
2. Acting Colonel to Colonel                                 – 04
3. Lieutenant Colonel to Colonel                          – 18
4. Acting Lieutenant Colonel to Lieutenant Colonel –  05
5. Major to Lieutenant Colonel                             –  61
6. Acting Major to Major                                       –  02
7. Captain to Major                                                   –  92
8. Acting Captain to Captain                                 –  02
9. Lieutenant to Captain                                       –  210
