Milton Karisa and Allan Okello found the net as Vipers Sports Club staged a comeback to triumph over Lugazi Stars in the Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 64 at Mehta Stadium on Monday.

Lugazi Stars secured a first-half lead courtesy of Saidi Khalifan’s goal, scored six minutes before the end of the initial period.

Upon returning from halftime, the visiting Venoms exhibited resilience and swiftly leveled the score within a minute through a goal from Captain Milton Karisa. Nine minutes later, Allan Okello elevated Vipers into the lead with a superb header from close range, capitalizing on a brilliant cross from leftback Richard Matovu down the left flank.

Despite Lugazi’s determined efforts for an equalizer, defending champions Vipers managed to hold on, avoiding an early upset and securing a spot in the Round of 32.
