Micho over the Moon after Algeria’s elimination from 2023 AFCON

Former Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin Sredojevic alias has toasted to Algeria’s elimination from the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast.

Micho was over the moon when Algeria lost to Mauritania 1-0 on Tuesday night, bowing out of the competition with two points after three Group D matches, sitting on the rock bottom.

The Serbian Wolf took his After-Party to Twitter, expressing concerns on how Algeria played syndicate to help Tanzania (then managed by Algerian coach Adel Amrouche) reach the 34th edition, as Uganda bowed out.

After beating Niger 2-0 in the final qualifier match, Uganda Cranes were bound to make it to AFCON. Had Algeria, who had already qualified as leaders, beaten Tanzania, only for the game to end in a goalless draw.

Micho tweeted on his X handle that, “Dear Algerians I’m sorry for the unfortunate situation, next time better.”

He continued…. “What goes around, comes around. What you cooked in September, Almighty Allah (has) served you in January. Football is a cruel game. At least now you know how 50 million Ugandans felt in September, as you were thinking you’d escape.”

The former Cranes coach Micho, just like a section of Ugandans, believes Algeria played syndicate to see Tanzania through, as Uganda finished 3rd.

The Taifa Stars, who sacked their coach Amrouche, currently sit at the bottom of Group F and will need to beat second-placed DR Congo on Wednesday to sail through.
