Budding midfield sensation Moses Waiswa has made a surprise U-turn to Uganda Premier League reigning champions Vipers Sports Club, days after quitting rivals KCCA FC. Its confirmed.
Waiswa has signed a two-year deal with the Venoms. The attacking Uganda Cranes midfielder makes return to the Kitende outfit after an absence of nearly five years.
He left the Venoms in the 2018/19 season for South Africa’s SuperSport United, where he spent three seasons before joining KCCA FC, where he has played for the past one and a half seasons.
At Vipers, Waiswa is poised to contend with other standout players in the midfield, including Karim Watambala, Bright Anukani, Allan Okello, Abubakar Lawal, David Bagoole, Abubakali Walusimbi, and others.
Bukenya, Kiggundu move to Kitara FC
Elsewhere, UPL newcomers Kitara FC officially unveiled mid-season signings in the pair of midfielder Lawrence Bukenya and defender Arthur Bocca Kiggundu.
Bukenya joined the Royals from Wakiso Giants (six months) while Kiggundu came in from Express FC (one and a half years).
Bukenya has previously featured for KCCA FC, winning two league titles, two Uganda Cups, a CECAFA Kagame Interclub Cup, and the FUFA Super Cup during his time there.
As for Kiggundu, he has played for Proline FC, Simba, SC Villa, and Tooro United before joining Express in 2020, where he clinched both the Uganda Premier League and CECAFA Kagame Interclub Cup in 2021.
Amos Kirya to BUL FC?
According to Swift Sports, winger Amos Kirya has reportedly joined BUL FC from neighbors Gaddafi FC. Kirya was seen training with the current table leaders on Tuesday, making the move inevitable.
Kirya has previously played for Jinja Municipal Council (JMC) Hippos and MYDA FC before joining Gaddafi FC, where he spent the last two years.
Nsumba bolsters Express Technical Wing
Express FC has reportedly boosted their technical wing with the addition of Augustine Nsumba, who will deputize Alex Isabirye as his immediate assistant.
The former Lugazi FC, URA FC, Kyetume FC and Kyaggwe coach will also be the head coach of Express Junior Team.
SC Villa keen on Winger Male?
Sports Club Villa are said to be closely monitoring Police FC winger Reagan Male for a possible move. Male joined the Cops in 2022 from Kireka United and looks to be top on Dusan Stonjanovic’s radar.
The Jogoos, who parted ways with Midfielders Davis Ssekajja and Ivan Sserubiri, as well as Rogers Kiwanuka, are looking towards having a much better second round.
BUL FC release striker Sekamatte, three others
BUL FC have parted ways with four players, including Samuel Ssekamatte Kayongo, Richard Ayiko, Joshua Okiror and Vincent Zziwa. These have been deemed surplus to requirement.
The Eastern Giants are top of the table with 33 points garnered from the first 15 matches of the first round.
Goalie Ikara attracts Suitors KCCA, Vipers
BUL FC goalkeeper Tom Ikara is said to be on Vipers SC and KCCA’s wanted lists after an impressive show in the first round.
Currently away in Egypt with the Uganda Cranes for an international friendly with Kuwait, Ikara has previously played for Police FC, Mbarara City and Busoga United among others.
