Lady Golfer Irene Nakalembe has been confirmed among the ten professionals to represent Uganda at the Safari Tour leg, scheduled to take place at Limuru Country Club in Limuru.
The four-round-championship will tee off on Sunday, January 14, 2024, and will climax on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, in Kenya.
The list also has Abraham Ainamani, Marvin Kibirige, Ronald Rugumayo, Phillip Kasozi, Tadeo Rodel Gaita, Vincent Byamukama, David Kamulindwa, Hussein Bagalana and Ronald Otile.
Hosts Kenya has got a lion’s share of professional golfers awaiting participation in this leg, while Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Namibia and Rwanda have sent representatives.
The field has a total of 67 golfers and the cut will be determined after the 36 holes in the opening two rounds.
The cast of Ugandan Pros will capitalize of the recently completed Safari Tour leg at Sigona Golf Club, that was won by Kenyan Greg Snow with a total gross of 277 in four rounds (-11).
In the Tour, two Ugandans, Abraham Ainamani (295) and David Amooti Kamulindwa (296), were among the foreign players that made the cut to have a share of the UGX 24,000,000 total prize money kitty.
After the Limuru leg, the golfers will switch their focus to events at Muthaiga, earmarked for January 27th to 31st 2024, and the last one at Karen between February 3rd and 7th.
