Buikwe: Nine die in Accident

Nine people have died following an accident that happened on Wednesday morning at Bulyantente in Buikwe.

This followed an accident involving Motor vehicle reg.no. UBN 533T Mitsubishi Fuso Truck, white in colour, driven by yet unidentified driver.
 
lt’s alleged that the motor vehicle, that was being driven by a yet unidentified driver from Jinja side to Kampala side, was carrying passengers and oranges in sacks when the accident occurred, was overturning in the water channel.

Regional Police Spokesperson Hellen Butoto says nine bodies have been retrieved from the scene and taken to Kawolo Hospital Mortuary for postmortem.

According to Butoto, seven bodies are unidentified. Only 2 bodies have been identified

Three victims are at Kawolo Hospital receiving treatment, Butoto added.
