33 Die in Christmas Accidents

This particular accident claimed 5 lives between Mbale and Kapchorwa on Tuesday afternoon.

33 road users died in road accidents between December 25, 2023 and December 26, 2023. This is according to the Police Trafic Report.

Michael Kananura, the Directorate Spokesperson, told the media in Kampala on Wednesday that, although the country registered fewer cases this year, 33 people died while 156 sustained serious injuries.

“Among the fatalities registered, pedestrians and riders constituted 85% of which most these were in upcountry, otherwise highways were peaceful,” said Kananura.

In Kapachorwa, for example, 5 people died in a single fatal crash, which occurred on Tuesday at 04:00 pm at Towei Corner Kapsindi along Kapchorwa – Mbale Road, involving a motor vehicle reg. No UBD 074J Prado Land Cruiser. It claimed lives of 05 people, who included four children and their mother, and injured four others including the driver, all occupants in the same vehicle.
