Entebbe, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Bridget Basiima concluded an outstanding year with a victory at the MTN Grand Tee of Tees held on Saturday in Entebbe. The medical student from Mild May Institute of Health Sciences secured the Ladies Overall Order of Merit golf title with an impressive score of 64 nett, triumphing on count back.

Expressing her joy, Basiima, a repeat winner of the Overall Ladies Order of Merit, said, “Wow. This is the second time I am winning the Overall Ladies Order of Merit; I am so super excited about this victory. I must thank God for this beautiful win.”

Meanwhile, Michael Monne claimed the Order of Merit men’s title, capping off a remarkable year with a flawless performance in all his games, earning him the top spot as MTN Uganda concluded the golf season at East Africa’s oldest golf club.

Although no golfer clinched the car set for a hole-in-one on Hole 11, the event saw MTN Chief Executive Officer Sylvia Mulinge laying the foundation for the construction of the Halfway house at Entebbe Club.

The awards ceremony was punctuated with a fireworks display, and Music Diva Winnie Nwagi added a musical touch, performing for the golfers and invited guests.

The tournament was co-sponsored by Huawei, Cfao Motors, AfriSafe Insurance Brokers, Aquafina Water, Pepsi Uganda, and Castle Lite.
