Generally, in Africa, hardly anyone dies of natural causes. Most people die from witchcraft, curses, hunger, bullets, starvation, marasmus, cholera, typhoid, sleeping sickness and currently, Covid.
You can speculate all you want. It is your prerogative. That Hon. John Pombe Magufuli was poisoned for being against Western Imperialism. That he died of Covid because he refused to wear a face mask and doubted Covid. It is okay. You likely have more information than the government of Tanzania. OR you over rely on Google.
It is stated that Magufuli died of heart disease. At his age of 61, coronary disease is normal. If you look at how hard he was working, you would understand why it is likely that he died of cardiac failure. So, when you speculate and rumour monger, try to read about him. The work he was doing for his people. The work he was charged with to fight corruption. The work he was charged with to take Tanzania to Middle Income Status. The man was working very hard and hardly getting a vacation. Magufuli worked for his people. A benevolent loving Dictator Authoritarian Autocrat. However, when History gets written by Tanzanians, the History will say “Magufuli loved his country”.
Yes, he failed many of us many times. Activists. Human Rights. Bloggers. Journalists. Yet, were you the ones leading the country to Middle Income?
Magufuli will go down in history along the lines of Kwame Nkurumah, Gen. Iddi Amin. Patrice Lumumba, Nyerere. Mandela, Jomo Kenyatta and … who is that guy from Zambia… Kenneth Kaunda. Magufuli should not be denigrated in his death. Far more brutal African despots deserve to be held accountable for selling their countries. For genocides. For intentional impoverishment of their people.
I wish you could read what I wrote about Magufuli 2 days ago. Magufuli made me love home. I wanted to even immigrate to Tanzania and take up Tanzania citizenship because of him.
Feel the beat. In this video (https://youtu.be/yjsvbbLHUQ0) Magufuli chances on a local band playing in one of the markets and hits the drums. I love this video.
There is also this video when India’s PM, Modi, was visiting Tanzania. Magufuli challenged Modi to a show of beating drums. In many developing counties or Middle Income countries, usually from the Southern Hemisphere, Music is used for love, communication, friendship. In fact, if you should go to a local ceremony and you see people beating drums, you join in. In this video, Modi and Magufuli killed it. https://youtu.be/0FLHnZ3_iaA
I hope that you will read more about Dr. John Pombe Magufuli and his legacy. I hope you will remember him kindly and judge him gently.
