On Wednesday April 5, 2017, FDC party leaders and supporters headed to Eastern and Northern Uganda for their citizen sensitization rallies on Land Grabbing and took truckloads of food since the entire region has been experiencing drought and famine.  The locations for the rallies and food distribution are Katakwi and Toroma.

Unfortunately, the day is turning into an Iraq of some sort.  The military police, militia, and army are out in full swing demanding that the food distribution be halted and all the food be given to the security forces.

It is an open secret that even the army and police do not have adequate food but FDC is asking why they just do not come and line up and get the free food.

Tear gas has been unleashed but what is shocking is the Minister of Disaster Preparedness Musa Ecweru ordering SHOOT TO KILL any FDC member giving out food. Incidentally, the people have refused to go away without food and are now throwing rocks at the security officers who are armed to the teeth.

When FDC went to distribute food in Isingiro which is the region where most key people in President Yoweri Museveni’s government come from, not a single bullet was fired and no tear gas was used. In fact Ugandans were shocked that the president’s own backyard was experiencing hunger.

More details to be added.
