UGANDAN soldiers abduct Kenyan police – KIDNAPPING CROSSES BORDERS

Panic gripped Nambo beach in Bondo sub-county after Ugandan soldiers attacked and abducted seven Kenyans.

They include three police officers and four fishermen who were seized from Lake Victoria on Monday evening.

According to Siaya County Administration Police Commandant Patrick Lumumba, the seven are being held in Uganda.

The police commander stated that the officers were on their regular patrols on the lake when the Ugandan soldiers waylaid them at around 5pm.

They were then taken to Hama Islands and subsequently to Namaingo where they are currently being detained.

Nyanza Regional Commissioner is however expected to visit the region on Tuesday morning even as fishermen from Usenge and Nambo beaches plan to hold a major demonstration over the abduction.
