UGANDA: Open crime drama – stolen number plates – VIDEO
This is a story from Kampala received on May 27, 2018 by a trusted friend. It is not even fiction.
I have a new story. My I am with my friend right now his story is interesting. Thugs removed his number plate from his car and left phone number with a note “kuba”.
The guy reported the case to the police up to now the phone number the thief left is still on. And nothing has been done. When you call he picks and tells you to send him UGX 100K. The man called this guy and negotiated.
The thief my friend that he had only 50K and the thief said to send it . After sending the 50K, my friend called the thief. The thief replied “mpozzi motokayo ki?” My friend told the thief the model and type of car and the thug was like ..eyo ya mitwalo kumi send my balance I tell you where your number plate is.
Surprising when my friend went back to police today he found 5 more new cases of the same with the same phone number and it’s still available whenever you call that phone. When you ask for your number plate he answers. Because he has many plates, he asks what yours is. That phone number is 0703 345 708. When you call and ask him your number plate he tells you to send 100K.
That’s the situation in Uganda now. The man leaves the stickers on your car with his number and a message mbu kuuba.
The police have given him some paper to drive without it and it expires in two weeks time
SOURCE IDENTITY WITHHELD.
That is so true. I know a guy whose two cars’ number plates were all taken, he reported to police but was not helped at all. The contact is also on and nothing has ever been done. So the guy opted to also drive his cars without number plates
