UGANDA: Man’s body found in Mbale Central Forest Reserve
MBALE (DAILY MONITOR) – Nauyo Town Council residents were on Friday shocked after their colleagues found a body of a man dumped in Mbale Central Forest Reserve, on Mbale-Tororo Highway.
The body of a man believed to be in the mid-30s was recovered by farmers who were coming from their farms at about 1pm.
They alerted Police who went to the scene.
Some residents claim the man was killed while trying to break into a shop in Mukanga Trading Centre in Nauyo Town Council, about three kilometres from Mbale town.
Mr Moses Masaba, a boda Boda rider said the deceased was a notorious thug in Mbale.
“I know him. He was a thug and I suspect he was killed while stealing. But let police investigate the cause of his death,” he said.
A police officer at the scene who requested not to be named, identified the deceased as Abdullah Nagwere, a resident of Kachumbula village in Bukedea District.
“We recovered a national identity card, a master key and hammer at the scene,” he said.
It’s however, not clear whether the identity card belonged to the deceased or to one of the killers who dumped the body in the forest.
He said the body was taken to Mbale Municipal Council Mortuary for a post-mortem as investigations go on.
The Elgon Region Police Spokesperson, Mr Manshur Suwed, confirmed the incident. —— AUTO – GENERATED; Published (Halifax Canada Time AST) on: May 04, 2018 at 07:02PM
