UGANDA: Chaos in Yumbe after URA shoots dead a Boda Boda rider

Very serious chaos in Yumbe as the people of Aringa are fighting with police and the army.
The civilians allege that the district has failed to protect them. They attempted to attack the district offices.
This came after one of their colleagues was knocked dead by a URA vehicle yesterday. The vehicle tried to capture his numberless motorcycle.
They don’t want to see any vehicle or motorcycle with a government number plate or an NGO vehicle.
They have so far burned 1 motorcycle belonging to the government and two cars belonging to an NGO with a driver.
So far eight people have been shot.

This is a developing story so we will be putting updates as we get them from Yumbe.
There is currently serious gunfire in Yumbe Town. So far 4 people have died.
The trouble started yesterday evening when URA were cracking down on number less motorcycles and in the process of arresting people they shot a Bod Boda owner dead.
This morning (March 28, 2018), sources have revealed that the Boda Boda group gathered and stormed the DPC’s office for action. After failing to get satisfactory answers, they started attacking police and this led to shooting of 3 more people. By the time you read this, the number of dead is 4 and the fighting is still ongoing.
